ISEQ has negative start to day

The Dublin stock exchange had a slightly negative start this morning as the ISEQ fell 11.92 points to 6,566.62 by 11am.

The negative start was reflected in both the financial and construction sectors.

Anglo Irish Bank was the only positive among the financials, up 14c to €10.40. Irish Life and Permanent suffered a 10c drop to €14.30, while both AIB and the Bank of Ireland dropped five cents to €17.80 and €13.45 respectively.

The main movers in construction were Kingspan who said their performance for the first half of this year is well ahead of the same time last year in a trading statement this morning. The Co Cavan based group sees its full year results coming in ahead of market forecasts.

However, McInerney Holdings saw their shares fall 15c to €8.35 and CRH fell 11c to €21.67.

Outside the construction sector, three other companies saw their share price decrease by 15c - Businees support group DCC fell to €17.50, FBD Holdings went down to €26.90 and Kerry Group dropped to €20.65.
