Blake on way to Leeds

11/07/2005 - 11:46:27
Leeds have agreed a fee for Birmingham striker Robbie Blake.

Former Burnley captain Blake joined the Barclays Premiership side in January and despite impressing, he failed to break into the first team on a regular basis.

After negotiations between the clubs resulted in a fee being agreed today, the 29-year-old will complete the switch to the Coca-Cola Championship outfit as soon as he agrees the terms of his departure with Birmingham.

Leeds hope to complete a deal later today in time for Blake to join the club’s pre-season tour of Norway.

Manager Kevin Blackwell told the club’s official website, www.lufc.co.uk: “He will offer us something different in attack and I am really delighted.

“The chairman Ken Bates has been absolutely brilliant. It shows how far the club has come.”
