ISEQ makes positive start to week

The ISEQ index of shares pulled away from the 6500 mark as it added 53.64 today to close at 6578.54.

The financials led the positive start to the week: Bank of Ireland was up 7c to €13.47; AIB rose 11c to €17.75 and Anglo Irish Bank gained 11c to €10.41. Irish Life and Permanent rose 7c to €14.37.

Ryanair stayed level at €6.40 after the announcement of a seat sale on its ex-Britain routes.

It was a good day for construction stocks, as CRH added 13c to €21.68, while Kingspan was up 25c to €10.36.
