Ruffled Rafferty misses Open place
09/07/2005 - 15:11:44Ireland's Ronan Rafferty, will not be teeing it up at the British Open at St Andrews after he was disqualified at qualifying in Lundin today.
Former European number one Rafferty failed to complete the 18th hole after finding his approach had finished out of bounds. He therefore disqualified for failing to return his scorecard.
The former Ryder Cup player had already hit two balls out of bounds on the 17th to run up a quintuple-bogey nine and knew he had no chance of qualifying.
