Bomb defused at Tyrone PSNI station
09/07/2005 - 18:46:59A small bomb was defused at a police station in Co Tyrone today.
The device, described as “viable”, was made safe by a British army bomb disposal expert and taken away for examination.
Police say said it was discovered just inside the fence of the Coalisland PSNI station. The find was made after an anonymous telephone warning was made to the media.
A number of neighbouring premises were evacuated for several hours while the device was made safe.
Meanwhile, searches of commercial premises in Dungannon, Co Tyrone, were carried out after claims incendiary devices had been planted. Nothing was found.
