Dave Mooney gave Rovers some much needed cheer with this rousing win.
Mooney struck for the only goal of the night on 47 minutes.
Skipper Trevor Molloy, who hit a post in the first half, was the architect of the strike, setting up Mooney to shoot past Dan Connor.
Drogheda almost hit a late, late equaliser but Mark Rooney’s 94th minute effort came back off the Rovers' bar.
