Berlin transport authority raises security level
07/07/2005 - 12:03:23Berlin’s city transport authority said it was raising its security level as a precaution after a series of blasts hit buses and the underground system in London.
The transport authority said it was raising its security level to “yellow” - the second of three levels. It was stepping up security patrols in the subway and urging bus and tram drivers to be particularly alert to suspicious objects.
“This measure is purely precautionary,” a transport authority statement said, adding that it had no evidence of any threat.
