Epsom to go ahead
07/07/2005 - 14:40:32Epsom’s meeting this evening is set to go ahead despite the terrorist attacks in London earlier today.
Racing director Andrew Cooper confirmed that no problems are expected with ambulance cover for the meeting, despite the high number of medical alerts 20 miles away in Central London.
“We have been assured that the situation with the ambulances remains unchanged and it is certainly our intention for racing to go ahead,” said Cooper.
“I imagine that travelling by road isn’t going to be easy this evening, and particularly on the M25.
“But as I speak, racing will definitely be taking place at Epsom this evening.”
