Super subs make Armagh line-up

06/07/2005 - 07:05:52
John Toal and Tony McEntee, who both came off the bench to such good effect in Armagh's recent defeat of Derry, have made the Orchard side's line-up for Sunday's Ulster SFC final at Croke Park.

Armagh manager Joe Kernan has made two changes in all as the holders bid to outdo great rivals Tyrone in a mouth-watering provincial decider.

Toal and McEntee were thrust into the action after 46 minutes of Armagh's four-point semi win over Derry and together, they gradually turned the screw for Kernan's lot.

Toal's second half goal has helped him pinch a centre field spot from Philip Loughran, while McEntee replaces his brother John McEntee at centre forward.

Tyrone are expected to name their XV on Thursday night for what is their first Ulster final meeting with Armagh since 1984.

The heavyweight pairing have met 36 times in the championship - Armagh lead 19-12 with four draws and one game having been abandoned.

ARMAGH (SFC v Tyrone): P Hearty; A Mallon, F Bellew, E McNulty; A Kernan, K McGeeney (capt), A O'Rourke; J Toal, P McGrane; M O'Rourke, T McEntee, O McConville; S McDonnell, R Clarke, B Mallon.
