IFA secures cheaper electricity for farmers

The Irish Farmers Association (IFA) and Airtricity have agreed a deal that could see farmers save up to 10% on their electricity bills.

The IFA said the agreement would immediately provide a 6% saving, rising to 10% if 10,000 people get involved.

Spokesman Eddie Downey said: "This is the sort of driving down costs that we need to get involved with and make sure that farmers stay competitive and become more competitive in the future."
