Protesting fishermen won’t rule out Tall Ships blockade
04/07/2005 - 16:33:24Scallop fishermen in the south east have said they're not ruling out the possibility of causing disruption to the Tall Ships Race in protest at EU fishing restrictions.
A Government mediator, appointed after the fishermen blockaded Rosslare and Waterford ports last month, is expected to finalise his report shortly.
Vessels from all over the world have started to gather in Waterford for the race which starts on Saturday.
Spokesman for the fishermen, Sean Radford said he wouldn’t rule anything in or out.
