Mayo: Gas line demo goes ahead
03/07/2005 - 16:03:47A demonstration is underway in Co Mayo over the jailing of five men for preventing the building of a gas pipeline on their land.
Today’s rally is the latest in a series of protests following the men’s imprisonment for refusing to obey a High Court injunction taken out by pipeline developers, Shell.
Organisers are calling for the resignation of Minister Noel Dempsy, who has rejected calls for him to intervene in the dispute.
