Portlaoise raid lands €1m in cocaine

Gardaí said today that a Midlands-based drugs supply ring has been broken up following the seizure of cocaine with a street value of more than €1m.

The seizure was made during a search of a house near Portlaoise this morning during which gardaí discovered a cocaine-mixing facility.

Four local men, three of whom are in their early 20s and one of whom is a teenager, have been arrested.

The suspects are being held at Portlaoise Garda Station under Section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act.

Officers from the National Drugs Unit, the Criminal Assets Bureau, and local detectives took part in the operation.
