01/07/2005 - 12:30:27
Dutch teenager Quincy Owusu-Abeyie has signed a new long-term contract at Arsenal.

Quincy, 19, made his first-team debut in a Carling Cup clash against Rotherham in October 2003, before starting in the semi-final first leg against Middlesbrough that season.

He made considerable progress over the next few months, scoring in last season’s Carling Cup win against Everton, before making his full Premiership debut against Portsmouth in March.

The striker, who recently represented Holland at the world youth championships, was today joined by 17-year-old defender Matthew Connolly and 18-year-old England youth international Kerrea Gilbert in signing new long-term contracts.

The club’s website, www.arsenal.com, reported: “Arsenal Football Club has secured the future of three of its bright young prospects. Arsenal hopes all three go on to great success at the club.”
