ISEQ up over 30 points
30/06/2005 - 17:53:59The ISEQ index of shares has climbed 34.26 points to close at 6540.8 after today's trading.
There were mixed fortunes for the financials. Anglo Irish surged ahead 20c to €10.25, while Bank of Ireland closed up 17c at €13.42.
AIB, however, surrendered early gains to close 10c shy at €17.70. Irish Life & Permanent was also in the red, down 3c to €14.47.
It was a good day for construction stocks. CRH closed up 17c to €21.80 and Grafton was up 12c at €9.58.
Elsewhere Elan shares climbed 5c to €5.65 today. Elan announced today it had received encouraging results for the use of its drug Tysabri to combat Crohn's Disease.
Fruit and veg distribution giant Fyffes added 3c to €2.47. Fyffes yesterday revealed strong banana prices were leading to improved performance this year.
