Man arrested after firearm seizure in west Dublin

Gardaí in Dublin have arrested a 33-year-old man following the seizure of a firearm and ammunition in west Dublin last night.

The man was detained following a search of his house in the Whitestown Park area.

Meanwhile, a number of shots were also fired at a house in nearby Clonsilla last night.

The front door of the house on Whitechapel Road was damaged, but nobody was injured.
