Two-match KO for Antrim's McCambridge

28/06/2005 - 12:27:26
Antrim will be without defender Michael McCambridge for the next two weekends of All-Ireland SHC qualifier Group A action.

The Cushendall club man, who started all four of the Saffrons' championship outings last summer, sustained a chest injury and also some internal bleeding in last Saturday's 1-9 to 4-25 Casement Park loss to Limerick.

On medical advice, McCambridge will be out for at least a month, ruling him out of Antrim's remaining Group A clashes with Galway (Saturday, July 2) and Laois (Saturday, July 9).

Two wins will be needed if Dinny Cahill's Antrim side are to progress to the All-Ireland quarter-finals next month.

The last three seasons have seen the Saffrons dumped out of the All-Ireland race at the quarter-final stage.
