Madonna keeping faith with Kabbalah
Recent bad press doesn’t seem to have dampened Madonna’s ardour for her adopted religion, Kabbalah.
The Judaic offshoot and more specifically its founders The Berg Family, have come in for criticism from US television show 20/20 and website Radar Online.
Part of the faith is that you give a large percentage of your earnings to the church, which is why it is particularly keen to attract mega-rich, celebrity members.
However, Madge’s spokeswoman says that the diva hasn’t seen any of the negative reports and that she generally gives her money to a kids’ foundation set up by the church.
While the singer isn’t fazed by the negative publicity, it appears the UK’s Internal Revenue Service is, with the government now gearing up to investigate Kabbalah’s existence as a tax-exempt enterprise.
