NI punishment beatings leave four in hospital
27/06/2005 - 08:43:14Police in the North are investigating four overnight paramilitary-style punishment attacks in Carrickfergus, Co Antrim.
Four men were attacked with bricks, hammers and meat cleavers in the attacks in the Woodburn and Castlemara estates at around 10pm. The PSNI said it did not know if the incidents were related.
Police investigating the assaults came under attack from a crowd of youths and at one stage a crossbow bolt was fired at an officer, though it missed its target.
