Thousands tippling wine, says survey
27/06/2005 - 11:55:56The number of wine drinkers in Ireland has doubled over the past 15 years, according to a study by supermarket group SuperValu.
The company said a survey it commissioned found the number of people who profess a liking for wine increased from 730,000 in 1990 to almost 1.5 million last year.
The survey found Australian wine most popular, while the 25 to 35 age group represented the largest group of wine drinkers.
