Bjork makes live return for Tokyo Live 8
Bjork is to headline at Live 8’s Tokyo concert in her first live performance in two years, it was announced today.
The Icelandic singer will be joined by British band McFly and US band Good Charlotte, as well as Japanese musicians Dreams Come True, Def Tech and Rize.
More artists are to be confirmed over the coming days and will be announced on the official website www.live8.jp.
The show will take place at the large indoor arena Makuhari Messe, with a capacity for 20,000 people. Tokyo was only added to this list of concerts in mid-June.
Lily Sobhani, Live 8 Japan Organiser said: “We can’t believe the willingness of all involved to make this extraordinary event come together at such short notice – the line-up is fabulous and Live 8 Japan is going to be a momentous addition to the global series of events on July 2.”
Takumo Yamada, of Oxfam Japan, said organisers were “thrilled” about the concert.
