ISEQ up 32 points in early trading

AIB led the charge today as the ISEQ index of shares gained 31.73 points in early trading to stand at 6447.72.

The bank rose 47c (2.71%) to €17.80 by 11am this morning. There was little movement among the other financials with Anglo Irish and Irish Life & Permanent unchanged at €9.75 and €14.10 respectively.

Bank of Ireland gained 7c to €12.92.

Meanwhile, Independent News & Media was down 4c to €2.58 as chief operating officer Gavin O'Reilly yesterday said that Independent expects earnings per share to grow 15-16% this year.
