Clubs courting Reynolds
Former Waterford United manager Alan Reynolds is interesting Shelbourne, Cork City and Shamrock Rovers.
Reynolds left Waterford by mutual consent yesterday, though the club did ask the 30-year-old to remain on as a player – a request he rejected – and he now looks set to move on.
Cork are believed to be his preferred choice, though City manager Damien Richardson is already overburdened with midfielders and may prefer to spend in the transfer window on a striker or defender.
Shelbourne are interested as Pat Fenlon looks for some added steel for his side, which has now gone seven games without a victory. One of Reynolds’ former clubs, Shamrock Rovers, is also interested after manager Roddy Collins attempted to sign the midfielder during the winter.
A potential stumbling block could be that it is still not known whether Waterford will be able to ask for a transfer fee for the midfielder.
