One horse race for Hoops target
20/06/2005 - 09:27:40Turkish giants Trabzonspor have admitted defeat in the race to sign Celtic target Maciej Zurawski.
The Polish star is expected to jet into Glasgow today as Gordon Strachan attempts to secure his first signing since taking over the Parkhead hotseat.
Celtic are reportedly ready to pay £2m (€3m) to land the Wisla Krakow striker.
Trabzonspor had also been in the running to secure the signature of the highly-rated 28-year-old but club director Murat Bozoglu fears they will lose out to Celtic.
He said: “Zurawski is a big disappointment for us. He is not coming here because Celtic have offered him more money.
“There is not much we can do because the player has said he wants to continue his career in Glasgow.”
