Man in hospital after hit-and-run

A man in his late 20s is fighting for his life this morning following a suspected hit-and-run in Co Cavan overnight.

The man was found with serious injuries on a roadside in Kingscourt at around 3.30am and was taken to hospital in Navan before being transferred to Drogheda.

Gardaí have sealed off the scene pending technical examination to determine exactly how he sustained his injuries.
