High Court delays McBrearty hearing

The High Court has agreed to adjourn the hearing of Frank McBrearty Jnr's claim for damages at the State's request.

This is to allow lawyers for the Government assess the special damages claims being advanced by Mr McBrearty.

Lawyers for the Co Donegal man are rejecting a claim by the State that the amount of damages being sought could amount to more than €8m.

The High Court President has said the claim could be heard some time in July.
