Carphone Warehouse co-founder sells shares
A boss at Carphone Warehouse has sold shares worth £10m (€15m) just two weeks after a fellow co-founder did the same, it emerged today.
David Ross, who helped set up the firm with chief executive Charles Dunstone 16 years ago, cashed in on a recent surge in the price of the stock by selling six million shares.
Mr Dunstone pocketed roughly the same amount when he made his first sale since the group floated in 2000. Both said they had no current intention to sell any further shares.
Carphone Warehouse, which has around 1,085 stores in 12 countries, has seen its shares rise by almost a fifth in the past month.
Mr Dunstone cashed in his shares on the same day the company announced a 34% hike in pre-tax profits for its last financial year. The group said at the time that current trading was strong across all of its divisions with similar rates of growth in both subscriptions and pre-pay deals.
