Motherwell renew interest in McCourt
Motherwell have made further enquires into the availability of Shamrock Rovers’ star player Pat McCourt.
Although there is still six months to run on McCourt’s contract, he has an agreement that will allow him to return cross channel this summer should an offer be made.
However, Roddy Collins hopes to persuade the Northern Ireland international to remain in Dublin with a new contract offer once the club is taken out of examinership.
Having already lost Lee Feeney and Mickael Wolski this week, Collins is also desperate for his squad not to be further depleted.
Collins said: “It’s all going to plan and the investor should be in before the transfer window. Hopefully it happens soon because we’ve lost four of the players we brought in to help out in the short-term and Derek Phillips will go after the Finn Harps game.
“Pat McCourt is under contract but can leave in July and Motherwell have come in this week. I want to keep him and hopefully I will be in a position to talk to him about it soon.”
