Maher comes in for injured Cahill

17/06/2005 - 01:56:55
Despite their loss to Kerry three weeks ago, Tipperary have made just one change to their side for Saturday's All-Ireland qualifier against Westmeath.

Seamus McCarthy's Tipp footballers face 2004 Leinster winners Westmeath at Semple Stadium and wing forward Cian Maher (Fethard) is their only switch, replacing the injured Paul Cahill.

The Premier men also breathed a sigh of relief when inspirational captain Declan Browne was pencilled in at full forward.

The two-time All-star suffered a recurrence of a quad muscle injury while playing for Moyle Rovers last weekend, but has been passed fit to play.

Browne's club mate Brian Mulvihill joins him in the first line of the Tipp attack.

TIPPERARY (SFC V Westmeath): Paul Fitzgerald; Damien Byrne, Niall Curran, Peter King; Pa Morrissey, Brian Lacey, Robbie Costigan; Kevin Mulryan, Fergal O’Callaghan; Glen Burke, Liam England, Cian Maher; Benny Hickey, Declan Browne (capt), Brian Mulvihill.
