Gardaí may face action in row investigation

Two armed gardaí could be facing disciplinary action after allegedly becoming involved in a row while stationed outside the US Embassy in Dublin in recent days.

Reports this morning claimed one of the plain-clothes gardaí had been drinking while on duty and a row ensued when he was confronted by his colleague.

The garda who had been drinking then left the scene only to be stopped a short time later on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.

This morning's reports said both officers had been suspended pending an investigation into the incident.
