ISEQ ends week on a high
17/06/2005 - 17:26:03The ISEQ ended the week on a high today as the index climbed 45.53 to close at 6429.46.
Banking shares have been on the rise today. Shares in Allied Irish Bank and Bank of Ireland were both up 25c to close at €17.50 and €12.95 respectively.
Anglo Irish Bank shares were unchanged at €9.88, while Irish Life & Permanent shares were 7c higher at €14.
Construction shares have fared well today. Shares in CRH are 16c higher at €21.93. Grafton shares have climbed 22c to €9.30 while Kingspan shares have climbed 4c to €9.39.
This comes as news emerges employment in private firms in the construction industry increased by 4% in April, according to the Central Statistics Office.
Elsewhere shares in Elan dipped 25c to €5.55, despite a positive start.
