Tax-cheat TD to retire at next election
15/06/2005 - 12:01:21Former Fianna Fáil TD Michael Collins has announced his intention to retire from politics at the next general election.
Mr Collins said today that he would not be contesting the next election, but would continue to represent his constituents until then.
The Limerick TD paid more than €130,000 in tax and penalties to the Revenue Commissioners two years ago after being identified as the holder of a bogus, non-resident bank account.
He was a Fianna Fáil TD at the time, but lost the party whip shortly afterwards.
