Justice served, says Jackson's father
14/06/2005 - 09:56:51Fans around the world were waiting to hear from Michael Jackson today after he was cleared of child sex abuse charges.
The singer was not up to celebrating last night and went to bed exhausted at his sprawling Neverland ranch, his father Joe Jackson said.
Mr Jackson said: "As far as we are concerned, justice has been served."
In a statement, Jackson's lead attorney Tom Mesereau said: "Justice is done. The man's innocent, he always was."
Legal analysts speculated that Jackson could still be sued in the civil courts by his accuser Gavin Arvizo.
But other experts suggested Jackson would now regain his position as one of the world's most popular artists.
