Familiar faces return for Dublin hurlers

14/06/2005 - 11:49:01
The Dublin hurling squad's hopes of ending their 11-game league and championship losing streak has been boosted by a number of returning faces.

New manager Tommy McNaughton has welcomed back Tomas McGrane, Kevin Flynn and Liam Ryan - who were not part of former boss Humphrey Kelleher's original Leinster SHC squad - ahead of Saturday's All-Ireland qualifier opener against Clare in Parnell Park.

The Russell brothers, Damien and Tom, have also been summoned together for squad duty, along with John Cullen (Crumlin) and Trevor Donohue (Faughs).

Definitely out of the Banner clash is Kevin Ryan (back) while Philly Brennan is currently recovering from an operation on his tonsils.

Stephen Perkins is suspended. He was red-carded in the 4-14 to 0-14 provincial loss at the hands of Laois.
