NI bank customers have say on charges
14/06/2005 - 07:23:16The Consumer Council in Northern Ireland has teamed up with an independent banking advice network to help more consumers have their say on bank charges, penalties and fees.
The Council and advice ni have set up a web-based e-consultation.
Bob Stronge, director of advice ni, said people needed to be sure they were being treated fairly by the banks, particularly now that more people were opening accounts.
Eleanor Gill, chief executive of the North's Consumer Council welcomed the move.
"This is an exciting new way to engage more people in this important investigation," she said.
The consultation runs until June 24 and people can also write, call or e-mail in their views, she said.
