Robert poised for Bolton switch
Laurent Robert looks set to end his unsteady spell with Newcastle by joining Bolton on a three-year contract.
The 30-year-old French winger is expected to sign a three-year deal at the Reebok Stadium after a mixed four years at St James’ Park.
Newcastle and Bolton are understood to have agreed a fee of £1.5million - £8million less than the fee the Magpies paid for him – and the player is expected to sign if he passes a medical tomorrow.
Robert’s agent Willie McKay told the Press Association: “He is flying in from the Reunion Islands (near Mauritius) and Bolton will arrange a private plane to drop his children off in Montpellier and then take him back to Manchester.
“Personal terms have been agreed, at more or less the same as his contract at Newcastle, and the deal is subject to a medical.”
