Men urged to take care of their mental health
09/06/2005 - 15:34:05Men are being urged to look at their mental health as the pace of life and work increases.
The call follows a survey of 500 men by the Department of Health, which shows many men avoid medical check-ups because of a fear of bad news.
Junior Health Minister Sean Power says the Government is doing its best to offset the high cost of visiting doctors.
“In the last budget we brought out a new doctor-visit card. We are making it as simple and as cheap as possible for people to visit their doctors and in cases where people would have excessive medical bills, they can offset those against their taxes,” Mr Power said.
