EC president survives no-confidence motion
08/06/2005 - 11:25:26European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso and his 24-member team today easily survived a no-confidence vote launched by Eurosceptic members of the European Parliament.
Only 35 deputies in the 732-member assembly supported the motion of censure.
This came at a time when the Commission is struggling to limit the fallout from the Dutch and French rejection of the EU constitution and just a week before a crucial summit of EU leaders.
