Quiet start for ISEQ

Trading was quiet this morning in the Dublin Stock Exchange which saw a 3.05-point fall to 6,330.92 by 11am.

Financials were mixed with AIB the only positive after a 12c rise to €17. Both Anglo Irish Bank and Irish Life and Permanent had seven-cent decreases to €9.89 and €13.60 respectively, while Bank of Ireland fell four cents to €12.99.

Elsewhere, both DCC, the business support services group, and pharmaceutical giant Elan climbed 10c to €16.30 and €5.48 respectively.

This was cancelled out by Insurance group FBD who tumbled 20c to €23.80.
