Digicel moves into Haiti
08/06/2005 - 16:08:26Digicel Group announced today that it is the first company to be awarded a license to operate a GSM network in Haiti.
With the addition of operations in Haiti, Digicel will now operate in nine countries with a total population of over 12 million people. Digicel spans the entire Caribbean region from the Cayman Islands to Barbados and Aruba.
Denis O’Brien, chairman, Digicel Group stated: “Digicel is delighted to be the first company to be awarded a licence to operate a GSM network in Haiti. This is a tremendous opportunity for Digicel for further expansion."
