Tributes pour in for former Justice Minister
07/06/2005 - 15:02:06Tributes are being paid to the former Minister for Justice Sean Doherty who has died at the age of 60.
He suffered a brain haemorrhage while enjoying a weekend break in Donegal with his family.
The Taoiseach has described him as a man of considerable ability, who inspired loyalty and support.
Fianna Fáil TD for Longford-Roscommon Peter Kelly said Mr Doherty was one of the most popular TDs to ever represent the region.
“He will be remembered by anyone and anybody because everybody knew Sean Doherty. Sean Doherty was known the length and breadth and I am amazed that everybody, no matter who you meet, all had contact with him at some time or other during his career,” Deputy Kelly said.
