Raikkonen worried about Montreal

06/06/2005 - 14:20:26
Kimi Raikkonen fears his last-lap crash at the Nurburgring will harm his chances in this weekend’s Canadian Grand Prix.

The McLaren driver crashed out of the lead in Germany when his suspension failed on the last lap, meaning he will be among the earlier runners in qualifying.

That is traditionally the slowest place to be and, with a new surface on the Montreal street track, Raikkonen expects to be handicapped.

He said: “Hopefully we will run well this weekend. However, I will be out pretty early for qualifying on Saturday which will be a disadvantage as the track is always really dirty.”
