Andy Myler scored for the third match running as Longford made it three wins on the trot to leapfrog Waterford into the top half of the Premier Division table.
Town ran the first half, with Packie Holden having to make good stops from John Martin, Paul Keegan and Myler before the Blues goal was breached on 32 minutes.
David Breen misjudged Stephen Paisley’s long clearance and the ball bounced through for Keegan, who rounded Holden to turn the ball home from an acute angle.
Martin ended Blues' revival when lobbing Holden from 35-yards on 64 minutes.
Keegan and Gary Cronin then set up Myler to side-foot home the third goal 11 minutes from time.
