George Best's lover cautioned for alleged assault
George Best’s lover has been cautioned by police for an alleged assault on the former football star, police sources confirmed tonight.
Best, 58, sported two black eyes after the disturbance at the home of 37-year-old Ros Hollidge.
According to the Sun newspaper, which printed photographs of a bruised and swollen Best, the incident happened after a trip to the Derby.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said tonight that police were called to investigate a disturbance at an address in Surbiton, south west London, at 8.37pm yesterday.
He said: “Officers attended and found a man with facial injuries. He was taken to Kingston Hospital and was discharged after treatment.
“A 37-year-old woman was arrested at the address and taken to a south London police station where she subsequently accepted a caution for assault and was released.”
