Rhodes leads way in Irish Seniors

England's Jim Rhodes is the first round leader after the first round of the AIB Seniors Open at The Heritage at Killenard in Co Laois today.

Rhodes shot a five under 67 in a bogey-free round which included an eagle on the par fourth 11th.

Former Ryder Cup captain Sam Torrance is tied for second with Lee Carter one shot further back.

Denis O'Sullivan and Paul Leonard are best of the Irish, tied for eighth place on one under.
