An Post told lift pay freeze if staff improve productivity
03/06/2005 - 08:03:02The Labour Relations Commission has reportedly told An Post to lift the pay freeze it has imposed on its staff, but only if they are willing to improve productivity or agree to cutbacks in costs.
Reports this morning said the recommendations were made by independent LRC assessors who studied the accounts of the state company.
Both management and unions have reportedly been asked to indicate by next Tuesday whether they are willing to accept the proposals.
An Post has refused to pay its workers pay rises due under the Sustaining Progress agreement, a move that has saved the company around €60m in wage costs.
