Taoiseach: Dutch vote a significant setback

The Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern, has expressed disappointment with the Dutch electorate's decision to vote 'no' to the proposed EU Constitution.

Around 62% of voters rejected the documented in a referendum yesterday, raising further questions about whether it can ever be implemented.

Responding to the vote, Mr Ahern said it was a significant setback.

Over the weekend, the French also rejected the constitution, which must be ratified by all 25 EU member states before it can take effect.
