DUP councillor elected as Belfast’s new Lord Mayor
27/05/2005 - 08:10:31A DUP councillor has been elected Lord Mayor of Belfast with the support of all other parties except Sinn Féin.
The Ulster Unionists, the Alliance Party and the SDLP joined forces last night to elect Wallace Browne to the position.
SDLP councillor Pat Convery was elected Deputy Lord Mayor.
