Courses to address shortage of midwives
27/05/2005 - 17:42:01The Minister for Health is setting up two new courses to address a shortage in midwives and childrens nurses.
It comes after a recommendation in a report published today by an expert group.
At the moment it takes up to eight years to train staff.
These degree programmes will be four and four and a half years respectively.
They're due to begin in Autumn 2006.
