Construction industry pay rates registered with Labour Court
27/05/2005 - 13:06:00Pay rates for the construction industry have been registered in the Labour Court, making them legally binding.
The rates were agreed between unions and employers in 1998, but unions have accused some employers of failing to implement them.
SIPTU said today's move would eliminate ambiguity about workers' entitlements and would help stamp out exploitation in the construction industry.
